Events by Courtney Ann is based out of Walnut Creek and plans weddings all over Northern California. We were lucky enough to work with her on Megan & Jonathan’s Wedding in Napa as well as Whitney and Patrick’s Wedding in Truckee. She offers full, partial or month of management packages for Weddings and Events! She also offers corporate and non-profit event planning!
I am a 30 something year old wife, mama, organizing enthusiast and wine lover who has been living my dream of being a wedding planner for the past two years. Prior to starting my own business I was an event manager for a financial firm in Walnut Creek (where I currently reside) for 6 years. This job provided me the tools and resources to be able to take on the wedding industry. While it has its stressful moments and I spend many weekends away, I wouldn’t change it for the world. Wedding Planning and being able to share in the lives of my couple on one of the most important days of their lives is my passion and what drives me to continue to thrive in the industry. In my free time I love taking adventures with my little love (I have a 3 year old daughter, Emma) and handsome hubby. I love working out, spending sunny afternoons downtown exploring and nights in watching movies. My current favs: Key Lime LaCroix and dried Persimmons from TJ’s.
This is a great question! My ideal client is one that excited about the process and values the planning services I offer. I want the planning process to be fun and stress-free and so it needs to be a good fit for both of us

My negotiating skills 😉 and what I like to call “the elevated experience” I can’t share all of my secrets since that’s what sets me a part, but its something I discuss on my initial call with my couples 😉
This is so important! There are so many details that go into planning a wedding, especially in the final months leading up to the wedding that only a professional and experienced planner would know. It is the one area couples don’t necessary budget for and it is actually doing them a disservice. Planners have access to so many resources and preferred vendors that my couples often find that my services pay for itself with the discounts and incentives they have access to. Not too mention that planners are equip to handle sticky family dynamics, offer meaningful solutions if any issues arise and typically have the ability to oversee all day of logistics to ensure that everything runs smoothly and is perfect. Hiring a day of coordinator (typically month of management) allows the couple, immediate family and guests to really enjoy themselves and be fully present without having to worry about anything else (that’s priceless!)
Hire a wedding planner or month of coordinator! Be fully present. Take time for just you and husband/wife.
Unless a couple has been referred to me (which is how I retain most of my business), I always encourage potential couples to interview multiple planners! The services I offer, the time and attention I give my couples and my ability to achieve what my couples are looking for within their budget are what help set me apart. I also understand how important of a decision hiring the right planner can be and by encouraging my couples to vet their planners allows my potential couples to also see it isn’t just about landing the job. I genuinely care about what I do and while I would like to think I am the perfect fit for everyone that isn’t always the case (but by encouraging them) it helps put them at ease (then they usually come back and say they want to move forward because I am the best fit!
