Kim and Michael started their wedding at the Kimpton Sawyer in Downtown Sacramento. This beautiful couple wanted a classy and elegant wedding so after they were ready for their big day, they headed over to the Firehouse Restaurant for the remainder of their day. Read a little about how Kim and Micheal met and the road to their Firehouse Wedding! 

Michael & I swiped right on each other on TINDER! Expect to see #loveatfirstswipe on everything. We talked for a month and during this month, I bailed on Mike about three times. We even stopped texting for a few days and he said something funny/inappropriate while asking me out for what would be his last attempt/”final straw” that I agreed to meet with him that day. I couldn’t stop laughing at him and he was so awkward that he accidentally dunked his hand in his drink. I didn’t want to kiss him on our second date and he claims that he was  so upset with me that he never going to talk to me again….. he texted me when he got home. We don’t know when our real anniversary is because we liked each other immediately and didn’t see/talk/date anyone else. We say March 1st because it’s easy to remember, but we forget every year. A few days will pass and we will say, “OH HEY! Our anniversary was 3 days ago. Happy anniversary.”

I’m 33 and he is 26 (you know it, robbin’ that cradle!). He is from the east coast having grown up in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. I’ve been everywhere starting in Missouri to Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, and now here in California. I’m a bit of a tumbleweed and am hoping to turn Michael into one also. 5 days a week you’ll see us in a horrible blue shirt (Michael wears black because he is a diva) as we are employed by a little company named Best Buy. We are both leaders and love mentoring and developing those whom we have the pleasure of working with. As a couple, we do boring things like binge watch The Office, Grey’s Anatomy, or Game of Thrones, go to movies once a week, dabble in fitness when we aren’t being lazy, love learning about history and crime, etc… BUT… we are the life of the party in all of these boring things. We’ve been known to “troll” people, find a laugh in every situation, and rarely take anything seriously (unless it’s work related, but even then… ). Michael takes forever to tell a story because he gets distracted, is super animated, and says “um” a lot and loves podcasts (even falls asleep to them). I let my hunger control my emotions and am a lover of books & coffee. We currently parent a Maltipoo (Michael rescued her from abusive household), a chihuahua terrier (I saw an ugly dog on craigslist and had to have him), and a very weird cat (“defective” runt of the litter that was rescued from a small airport junkyard). 

The biggest pain when it comes the wedding is planning it! We are looking forward to seeing all of our family and friends and just want to party with them. Our wedding is simple – no DIY decor, no gifts, no cake, no tea ceremony, NADA – just music, food, and booze! We wanted to stay as hands-off as possible so when we went venue shopping, we were very specific about having someone who will not only guide us through the whole ordeal but who also will take charge. Firehouse Restaurant was MY first pick just from looking at pictures, but Michael said it was too dark as he had been there before. It was our 5th stop and once he saw it in a different light, he fell in love with it. Any vendor we chose to be with us on our wedding day understands we want to be involved in the process as little as possible. Don’t give us choices, just make the decision for us! We understand we are working with professionals who have been in the wedding industry for quite some time so we trust the judgement of our vendors to make everything move smoothly.
