New website launch – Dee & Kris Photography rebrand

I have been working for countless hours on a rebrand and new site launch. Dee & I (Kris) have been die hard Showit subscribers for YEARS now. We have been very involved in the community of photographers who enjoy totally customization of their professional websites, as well as servicing their clients. The main reason we stayed with Showit for so long was their ability to easily create subdomains (aka ‘plus sites’) for our couples. Over the years we have made countless wedding websites for our amazing clients, and with Showit we had full customization. Well as everyone knows, technology changes and it changes fast. This goes for website design as it’s capabilities. In the last 9 years mobile devices have replaced computers in many cases and that is where clients are doing their online research. We quickly realized we needed a scrolling, vertical site that was eye catching, engaging, and most importantly, fully customizable. We looked into a few different companies (square space was a big contender), but we couldn’t find a company that offered easy to create plus sites for our couples. This was VERY important to us. They also relied heavily on templates and grid patterns. We wanted to be able to fully create without the constraints of a program.
That is when we learned that Showit was rebuilding from the ground up. I’m not going to lie when I say the waiting was HARD. I saw all my photographer friends with these pretty sites the scrolled and moved, and our old Showit site (while still pretty and functional) had fallen behind the times. I was lucky enough to be picked among the first few to get my hands on the new SHOWIT5! HOLY MOLLY! It was worth the wait. I will be frank and say the learning curve was a bit steep as I had only used the old Showit from day one. I wasn’t used to designing on a scrolling platform. It took about a week and I was hooked. I mean HOOKED. Once I realized the capabilities my mind was blown. I can decide if I like the canvas, parallax ability, movie integration, or the ability literally custom make my wordpress blog layout. WHAT??!!! You can make your wordpress blog in SHOWIT5?! Heck yes you can. And it was SO EASY.
I am going to get back to designing… but seriously… you HAVE to check this out!
