“I am not nervous at all!” Amanda exclaimed when she walked through the doors of the Sequoia Mansion in Auburn, California. It was a magical day. Sunshine and warm air circulated outside and flooded through the windows. We had the pleasure of photographing Amanda and Matt right before Christmas. The mansion was decorated beautifully and the air was festive. Amanda had been out of the state for work and had not seen Matt for about 6 months prior to their wedding. She came back to town only a week before the big day, and had to work fast to get everything together. They worked as a team and the day went off without a hitch. They were able to stay in the moment and enjoy their families and festivities. They were married on the converted porch under the beautifully decorated silver plated ceiling. The wedding was small and intimate with just close family and friends in attendance.
Amanda enjoyed some quiet time with her sweet son before the wedding. The first look was done in the front room. Matt was awe struck at how beautiful his bride was. They had been apart for months which only left a moment more touching than most. We LOVE this venue with the converted front porch. The light floods in and bounces around elegantly. The silver embossed ceiling is reminiscent of southern charm. The simple greenery to decorate the chairs was the perfect touch for this romantic venue. It was so much fun when Amanda and Matt pulled out the big dice. Guests took turns tossing it in the air to see if the lovely couple would have to kiss or if the guest who threw the dice had to kiss. Odds means the couple had to kiss, and evens means the thrower of the dice had to find someone to smooch on. This led to lots of laughter and fun. Dee & Kris brought the fun photo studio and used the beautiful settee for couples to cozy up on. So much fun getting to know all the guests and playing with the fun props.
