Dee and Kris have the honor of shooting their wedding in May and we wanted to share a little bit about how they met before their big day:

“David and I met 3 weeks after I turned 18 in September of 2012 at a local gym. I knew of David through social media and mutual friends and always thought he was just SO DAMN CUTE. So, when I spotted him out I had to make my move. I did the causal “Let me just slowly walk by and hope he notices” move, and thank god he did. We started talking and decided to get frozen yogurt across the street right after. I was instantly enamored with how easy it was to have a conversation with him, how much he made me laugh, complimented me, and just made me feel so comfortable. From that point forward he was all I could think about every second of every day, I was crazy in love and everyone knew it. I know it is the most cheesy line in the book, but I swear to you it’s true, I loved that man from the moment I met him.

The one thing David and I always had was chemistry and we always cared about each other a lot. The one thing that was not on our side though was timing. When I met David, he was 21 years old about to be 22 and in no position to start a new relationship and let’s be real…almost 21 years old guys aren’t ready to settle down. He just wasn’t ready for a relationship and really needed time to worry about no one but himself and figure out his life. I always respected David for that fact that he was always honest and communicated where we stood and what was going on in his head. Back then that was something that was really hard for me to accept, I kept telling myself “he will come around I just need to give him time” because I’m that girl that once I find something I like, I HAVE to have it. I kept up with that mind process for a year and a half before I finally decided that I needed to let go and really focus on myself.

For almost 3 years I didn’t really see David, I would run into him here and there because we share a best friend, Nolan. In 2016 I and two of my best girlfriends got a townhouse together. We had a get together with friends one night and we invited Nolan and of course, he brought David with him. I’ll never forget seeing David again for the first time in a long time, he was a completely different person, this boy that I knew that was always clean shaved, wore Jordan’s and basketball shorts with this horrendous Hennessy tank top, and would never let me play country music in his car was all the sudden a man and had a beard, wearing a flannel with boots, drove a big ass truck, and would always put on “Dirt on my Boots” by Jon Pardi when given the aux cord. But wasn’t just his exterior that changed, everything about him was different but in the best way possible.

It took me a while to allow myself to let David back in. But giving that man a second chance was the best decision I ever made. April 7, 2018, is the day David asked me to marry him officially making me the happiest girl in the world and May 17th, 2019 is when we finally start our chapter as husband and wife. It still blows my mind how it all worked out but just goes to show that what’s meant to be will always be.”
