Alex and Jeff were married at Scribner Bend which made for the most incredible Sacramento Winery Wedding. Check out these lovebirds love story…

“Jeff and Alex have known each other for years, thanks to Jeff’s sister, Dyllan. Dyllan and Alex were the best of friends during their senior year in high school, and Alex spent a lot of time at the DePew household because of this. Meanwhile, Jeff was home from time to time, but the two never had a relationship more than the brief exchange of hello’s and goodbye’s.
It wasn’t until years later that Jeff and Alex would become reacquainted. Through the magic of social media, Jeff and Alex decided to meet up for a drink at Bottle and Barlow in downtown Sacramento. Drinks turned into laughs (and more drinks), which turned into dinner at the Iron Horse Tavern. Their first date broke the mold and at the end of the night, they knew they had to see each other again. A second date at Lucca’s turned into a third date at home making dinner together and drinking wine. As the two got to know each other more, it was evident that this relationship was different than all the ones that preceded.
The night of December 31st, 2015 came to be one of the most memorable dates the two shared together early on in their relationship. A spur-of-the-moment New Year’s Eve celebration that began at Red Rabbit turned into dancing, endless laughter, and a champagne toast at Firestone under the twinkle-lit trees and celebratory fireworks.
The two had the Monday of President’s Day 2018 off together, which isn’t always the case due to Alex’s unconventional work schedule. Jeff has surprised Alex with a last-minute getaway – the two ended up at Sterling Vineyard in beautiful Napa wine country. A beautiful gondola ride up the hill overlooking the valley, the two were excited for their wine tour around the grounds. One glass of wine led to many, and while the two were enjoying the patio to themselves and taking in the view, they decided to get a picture of themselves against the landscape.
After a couple of pictures, Alex turned to Jeff and he was down on one knee. They wished they could remember exactly what was said at that moment, but it all seems to be a big blur full of smiling, laughter, and many, many tears (on Alex’s part). Jeff not only surprised her with a stunning ring and a beautiful proposal but also dinner reservations set at the delicious Sol Bar and a night’s stay at the Bergson Inn in Calistoga. Little did she know that he had already packed her a bag and arranged to have Cooper (their Staff puppy) looked after. The rest is history!
Alex and Jeff are so excited for their September 21st, 2019 wedding at Scribner Bend Vineyard. “We can’t wait to share a day full of love and celebration with all of our friends and loved ones. Scribner Bend has everything we could ever wish for in a wedding venue – the second we stepped on their grounds and began to interact with staff, we knew it was our venue. We are so grateful for the support we have received from our family and friends, along with our vendors. Here’s to the party of the year and the love of a lifetime!”
