A Sly Park Engagement Session at Jenkinson Lake, Pollock Pines was perfect for Natalie & AJ. They really wanted their engagement session to be a combination of woods and lake and Sly Park in Pollock Pines, California was the ideal location. Even with California being short on water, Jenkinson Lake is still beautiful during the spring months. Sly Park is known for its outdoor camping for both families and schools, but many couples come here for beautiful engagement pictures as the shade is plenty and the air is crisp. Jenkinson Lake has a green glow that is beautiful during the later hours of the day as the sky above Sly Park reflects off the surface. There are pathways all around the lake that lead to natural springs and waterfalls during the rainy months. It is a haven for wildlife and lush greenery.
A short dock was a great place to start this session as the couple walked and enjoyed the view of the Jenkinson lake. Natalie & AJ also brought along their dogs. Nothing better than bringing your sweet fir babies along for your engagement session. Natalie & AJ see these two cuties as their own kids and Dee & Kris love photography couples pets. Natalie aunt made this adorable banner for their ‘save the date’ invitations. Loved all the details. Natalie & AJ also brought along these lanterns. Dee & Kris had a great time getting a little creative with the lighting. Props are a great way to add a special touch to a couples engagement session. These details make for fun details when designing their engagement album as well. Natalie & AJ thought of everything!
Sunset was spent on the east side of Jenkinson Lake with the hope Dee & Kris could grab the beautiful, golden colors of a California sunset. Every engagement session Dee & Kris schedule is done during the ‘Golden Hour’ with the hopes of grabbing some incredible images of the California sky at dusk.
