We are so honored to be Roshi and Brandon’s family photographer! Now that their little guy is a year old they jumped at the opportunity to celebrate their family with a photoshoot.

When we spoke with the couple prior to their shoot, they wanted a classic park feel so we decided on one of our favorite photoshoot locations in Sacramento, The UC Davis Arboretum. Roshi packed a neutral colored blanket which created the the perfect sitting spot for the family and allowed for the cutest cuddly pictures!

We are just obsessed with their son’s dapper little outfit featuring suspenders and a bowtie. Does it get any cuter than a baby in a bowtie?

One of the most stressful parts of a photoshoot with little kids is trying to get them to look at the camera and smile. However, that’s a lot of pressure for little ones. Our philosophy for great photos is let kids be kids! To capture these adorable photos, we let their son make silly faces, play with his toys, and most importantly we asked mom and dad to play with him.

Some of our all time favorite images captured are not the ones where everyone is smiling at the camera, but the ones where the family is playing with each other. Kids love to be cuddled, tossed in the air(carefully), and they love playing with their toys.

Even though the little guy refused to wear his hat, these pictures are priceless!

After their session, the couple decided to preserve these memories in a perfectly sized family album. Their son will only be this young for so long, but these photographs will live on forever in their home.
