A little bit from Kristina:

My name is Kristina Elyse Foerster owner of Events by Kristina Elyse. I am an event coordinator serving Sacramento and its surrounding cities! I have had my business now for almost 3 years, but before going on my own I was planning for different business events and community fundraisers for over 2 years. That was a fun part of my life, but I really wanted to plan events where I could be more involved with the clients and design what I really loved – weddings! Now I get to work one on one with clients that become like family planning the most important and magical day in their lives. Behind the scenes, I get to collaborate with amazingly talented vendors that quickly become friends! I love what I do and feel so blessed I am able to do it.

Who is your ideal client?

I work best with people who focus more on the positive side of things and trust me to keep their best interest in mind in all things regarding their wedding. When obstacles come my way I immediately focus on ways to solve it not what made it go wrong and I love it when clients do the same!

One thing every client needs to know about what sets you apart from other coordinators?

I will go to bat for you! I have been known to family members and close friends as “dangerously loyal”. I will do everything within my power to make your special day exactly as we planned it down to every little detail. If you are a client of mine you’re on my team and I do anything for those on my team.

Why should clients give a coordinator for the day of or full service?

I love this question! Day of coordination is not something I offer since I feel it’s a disservice to my clients. The closest package to the day of coordination for would be my month of coordination. I need at least a month with you before the big day to meet with you, get to know you and your soon to be husband/wife, get to know the team of vendors you have assembled, formulate a timeline and floor plan to send to the team, visit your venue 1-2 times to walk through and learn their specific requirements as every venue is different, be with you for the rehearsal and finally manage the event the day of. My month of package is best for Brides that know what vendors they want to hire, feel comfortable managing their budget and want to style all the details on their own.

On the flip side, my full-service clients get me from start to finish. I am there for whatever they may need. There is a specific order of tasks that I like to follow when planning events and if you don’t know where to start and/or don’t have the time that’s needed for the process my full-service package is right for you! I assist in budget management, guest list management, styling tabletop decor and all displays, pulling together the overall theme, color scheme, shopping for the best vendors in every category to match the specific budget and couple, wedding website design if they desire, assistance on all verbiage/communication to guests, escort chart, and act as a general sounding board for any questions or concerns they may have during the planning process. There is much more that goes into the full-service package, which is why I like to offer a free 1-hour consultation for anyone interested in booking with me so they can ask me any and all questions they can think of before we get started.

Everyone is different when it comes to what they value in their event. It’s my job to take your vision and make it a reality while keeping in mind your desired budget.

What are your biggest tips for creating the perfect wedding day?

I always urge my clients to opt for a first look because it gives you more time to relax with your partner before ceremony and more time for your photographer to get portraits of just the two of you, request guests to “unplug” for the ceremony (then go crazy at the reception) there is nothing worse than a guest standing in the aisle right in the shot when the officiant pronounces you, if registering for physical gifts ask that they be mailed to your home (lugging all those gifts back the next day can be a hassle and this way nothing is lost) and finally plan for a late night snack if possible after dancing. Couples tend to either be too busy greeting their guests or too excited to eat their dinner, but trust me the hunger will hit you when the dancing is over! My husband and I asked our friends to get us In N Out burgers when we went back to our room lol! SO GOOD

What else would you like to share with clients looking to hire a coordinator?

Just a little love note: Anyone you hire to coordinate your wedding should be someone that makes you feel 100% comfortable and safe to discuss ANYTHING. Whether that’s me or another coordinator always be sure you feel comfortable enough to speak your mind on all matters. Don’t let anyone steamroll over you into what they want or what they think is best. At the end of it all, it’s your wedding. Planning something like a wedding is so incredibly personal and because of that, it can sometimes be sensitive. Not only is money involved, but close family and friends bring in another set of blessings and sometimes obstacles, I get that. My main goal to make my clients feel like they can rely on me for anything. I aim to provide a safe space to be creative and raise concerns.
