Jaime & Ron was our first event at the Forest House Lodge wedding venue in Forest Hill, California. When meeting with Jaime and Ron, their first question was, “Have you guys shot there before?” We answered honestly, “No. But we’d love to! Is that an issue?” We were then warned about how difficult photographers claim the ceremony location is to shoot. We did some research and sure enough, photographers were discussing the difficulty of the ceremony location. So, we went up to the Forest House Lodge wedding venue to scope it out. Once there, the possible challenge became very apparent. The way the light hits the couple under the alter, the way the shade covers their guests, the way the sun is enhancing the mountain in the back all makes for quite a difficult shot. One would need to adjust the shot to be: light enough to capture the guests, dark enough to capture the mountains, and somewhere in-between to capture the couple. There is only one way to do this, HDR with multiple shots. So we practiced it, and then nailed it at their wedding. Scroll down and check-out the pictures, then let us know what you think.
