2020 started off with our lovely couple Dionna and Sean! They held a very intimate wedding at the Old St. Mary’s Chapel followed by a wine and dine reception at Cante ao Vinho! For Dionna and Sean, this was a travel destination wedding for them. A lot of their family lives in the Sacramento area but the couples lives in Arizona! We are so thrilled they choose Sacramento as their wedding destination and we got to be a part of it!

Before getting into their wedding day, we ask Dionna and Sean about their love story…

They say opposites attract, right?

However, we are not so oppositeWe both grew up in church, believe in a higher power, went to a Christian college and strive to live a virtuous life. We love unconditionally and enjoy spending time with each other, our friends & family. We have a soft spot for many things, especially animals. We feel lucky to have 3 precious kitties – SmudgeBob, BaileyBoo and Chloe (aka MiniMoo).

Although we try and stay grounded, we have to admit, we both prefer the finer things in life. When it comes to style, you’ll find Sean wearing his favorite Goorin Brothers hat, smoking a cigar, and sipping an IPA. You’ll probably find Dionna at the day spa being pampered or the hotel lounge siping an Angel’s Envy rye old fashion. We both live for traveling, entertainment, gourmet food & spirits – Cheers!

In our opinion, there’s nothing better than having a romantic dinner, while looking at an incredible view, in a foriegn country. In nearly seven years, together we’ve traveled to British Columbia, Hawaii, China, Macau, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Spain, Morocco, Tenerife, Malaga, Madeira, Sitka, Juneau, Ketchikan, Glacier Park, Anchorage and Valdez Alaska where Sean was born, many other states, and Mexico. We are passionate jet setters who love site seeing, taking photos, experiencing the locals, all while enjoying the various languages, food and cultures amongest us – When in Rome!

We met in Oregon, so it’s fitting that we’re “trailblazers” who like hiking in the great outdoors. We see nature as a wonder whose beauty is to be admired. Dionna has a bucket list to visit all the National Parks across the United States. Each Christmas, as a gift, Dionna surprises Sean with an adventerous trip: Garden of the Gods in Colorado and Dinosaur National Park in Utah have been our highlights. All aboard, next stop, maybe – Yellowstone!

We both enjoy competitve sports and competing ourselves. We think that a couple who not only prays together, but also plays together, will surely stay together. Though admittedly, these days we’re usually floating in the pool with a margarita. Afterall, It is muy caliente’ in Arizona. Since 2-22-20 is also National Margarita Day, we’re advocating for livin la vita loca!

Whether home or away, we like to hit up major sporting events, concerts or a comedy show. We think one can’t take life too seriously. If you know Sean at all, you’d say he’s as laid back as they come and a bit of a dreamer. Fortunately for him, Dionna makes all his dreams come true. His nickname for her is “Baby Dreams”, her’s for him is – go to couples trivia @ #FlynnFellHeadStoverHeels…

One of the most special aspects of getting married at the Old St. Mary’s Chapel is the ringing of the bell to announce the marriage!
