Scribner Bend Vineyard is located along the beautiful Sacramento River. Situated on a section of the river named after the five generations of The Scribner Family that have called it home.
Valerie and Stephen chose this venue for the vineyard as a nod to their Italian heritage. As busy doctors who tirelessly worked through the pandemic, they were ready to make this a beautiful and fun day.
Valerie’s style is minimal and natural. Expert make-up artist Christi Reynolds kept the bride’s look soft and simple, and it suited her perfectly. Additionally, Christi styled Valerie’s hair in a lovely loose side braid adorned with some extra wedding flowers.
Without a doubt, as a doctor, Valerie is already giving back to the community, but she also finds other ways to be conscientious. She found her beautiful sheath dress at Brides For A Cause, a nonprofit bridal shop that donates to women’s charities.
Another way the couple found to give back at their wedding was with their plantable invitations. Botanical Paperworks prints their beautiful invitations on seed paper which will grow wildflowers when planted.
Because of Covid-19 and all the restrictions it brought, Valerie and Stephen’s wedding was an intimate event. The couple did not have a formal wedding party. However, there was no shortage of friends who would stand with them. Valerie’s best friends from childhood have become Stephen’s friends also and supported the couple together.
Valerie’s father sat on the veranda of the venue, waiting to see his daughter in her gown for the first time. Their First Look was endearing and emotional as they held each other and softly spoke to one another in Italian. Valerie’s mother and sister soon joined the pair as the family happily hugged and cried.
Stephen stood with his back turned as Valerie approached him excitedly. The First Look session is meant to offer them a moment together before the wedding. Without a doubt, their session was sweet and intimate as Stephen turned to look at his bride and took in just how lucky he was.
Scribner Bend’s grounds were beautiful and, with the California Palm trees towering in the distance, the stunning archway at the entrance of the aisle waited.
Stephen stood at the other end and smiled as Valerie approached on her father’s arm.
A tear of joy slipped down Stephen’s cheek as he watched his bride walk towards him.
Stephen and Valerie looked at each other with love as the officiant performed a full Catholic ceremony under the pink and purple sky as the sun began to set.
The couple opted not to have a formal wedding party, but Valerie’s childhood best friends stood next to them on this day. Since their move to Sacramento was finalized, Valerie’s friends and their wives have fostered a fast friendship with Stephen too.
Valerie and Stephen shared smiles and laughs in the sunset during their Romance Session. Dee and Kris had some fun with them too as they joked around while helping them relax.
Strelitzia Flower Company provided gorgeous floral arrangements for the day, adding to the beauty.
The vineyard wedding vibe was complete with wine-colored flowers and personalized wine cork keychains for guests to take home—uniquely and perfectly representative of the couple.
Even the hors d’oeuvres and food provided by Paesano’s were aesthetically fabulous and delicious.
Valerie and Stephen are extremely busy in their careers as doctors, so they try to cut loose and have fun whenever possible. They first showed their fun side to us during their engagement session, complete with a lightsaber duel. Now that their wedding day was finally here, they could cut loose and breathe.
The talented people at Timothy’s Bakery hooked it up with this fabulous three-tiered cake.
The champagne flowed as guests toasted the couple through laughter and tears.
