Framed by Giant California Redwoods, Margaret and Ryan brought along their family dog, Kaya, a Formosan Mountain Dog. The UC Davis Arboretum served as the perfect backdrop for this session. Maternity Session among the Redwoods with Margaret, Ryan, and Kaya

We were lucky enough to have photographed this couple’s fabulous wedding in February 2020.. So we were very excited when they asked us to photograph them again as they now expect their first child in October.

For the first part of this session, Margaret wore a scarlet red maternity drape dress that fit her baby bump perfectly. Her long dark hair was half pulled up in braids and the rest flowed past her shoulders. They strolled hand in hand through the towering redwoods of the 5300-Acre UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden in Davis, CA.

As a UC Davis Maternity Photographer, we love to capture the radiance of parents-to-be in the radiance of the sun setting through the trees. We’re never sure which glows more, mom or the sun.

For the last part of our session with this fun couple, we asked them to just walk with each other and talk. We stepped aside into the foliage and just let them be together. Margaret changed into a form-hugging cream off-the-shoulder sweater dress and put her long dark hair up in a high bun.
