We are so glad to have been chosen to photograph Erin and James wedding! They are so kind and loving towards everyone and we had so much fun spending their big day with them and capturing some killer shots!!
Here’s their love story…
“We met via an app (Hinge) and as we were both fresh out of long term relationships dated more casually for about six months. His dating profile included a photo of his cat and talked about how he was a feminist who loved wine and I KNEW we had to meet (I am an avid feminist with two cats, and his cat was named after my favorite varietal – yes now we have three cats!). We discovered we had a birthday one day after the other (mine May 2, his May 3), and after a birthday trip we took to Hawaii we decided that it was time to get serious about one another!
I can’t speak for James but for me, from the beginning, he was always so easy to talk to and someone who was always in my life. He never was judgmental or someone I felt I had to put up a front around while we were dating. He was so patient and gave me room to have all my feelings, even when I wasn’t sure what they even were!
Once we had been “officially” dating for about a year or so it was pretty clear to me that James was my guy. He asked me to move out of San Francisco where I had been living for 8-9 years down to the suburbs of Belmont, and I told him I would only really consider it if we were getting engaged. He told me to pick out a ring which I did, then we told our families and made it official once the ring arrived!
My parents were SO excited they scouted out Scribner within a week of us telling them we were getting engaged (about four weeks before the ring even arrived!) and were ready to put a deposit down immediately. We made a quick day-trip out to see the venue and thought it’d be a beautiful place for a spring wedding.
I think the best part of our wedding day was how much time our family and friends got to spend together getting to know one another. All these different people from different parts of our lives coming together to celebrate us becoming a family made us feel really special.”
