A magical grand exit, whether it be after the “I DO”, or at the end of the night, is a great way to get your guests involved, end the event, and get some killer pictures. We have seen these done a lot of different ways with lots of twists, and honestly, they are often the highest point of the evening. From singing “Sweet Caroline” in the middle of the dance floor with all your loved ones surrounding your, to being raised on chairs, to running out of the venue, your grand exit will be what your guests remember. Make it fun and make it YOU.
Technology is EVERYWHERE. It is awesome to have a built-in camera on our phone to be able to let everyone know what you are doing as you are doing it. Being plugged in has its perks, but during a wedding, we are hoping guests will be plugged into the moment. That they will be watching you walk down the aisle with their eyes and not through the screen of their cell phone.
Your wedding day is a HUGE moment for your father, this is the day he gives you a way to your future husband. If you are close with your father and want to share a special moment with him before he walks you down the aisle, we suggest a first look with your dad! Check out more First Look with Dad pictures!
A fun idea we love to suggest to larger bridal parties is to have a first look with your bridesmaids to show off your dress! Often times the getting ready morning is such a blur when all of your closest friends are together. This allows for getting into your wedding dress to be a special moment between a smaller party, such as your mother, sister, or maid of honor.
Your wedding day is the longest, shortest day of your life. It starts early and before you know it, it is over. We want to help you solidify the moments of your day and assist with “memory markers”. “Memory markers” are events that occur that that are highly emotional, meaningful, and sensory-driven. Here are some great ways to create these authentic moments throughout your day.
This is your day too! We can’t wait to see what you come up with just as much as we can’t wait to see your beautiful brides dress. Make what you wear your own. If you were ever going to buy a suite, your wedding day is the day to do it. Get creative, have fun with what you wear. You should NOT look like your groomsmen. You SHOULD stand out and feel amazing!
Over the years we have found that our couples want our opinions regarding beauty tips. We are NOT beauty professionals, and highly suggest finding a great makeup & hair artist to get the best recommendations for you personally. They know what they are talking about and can help provide you with the best information. We do have a few opinions after photographing women for over 10 years and have laid this all out for you here!

We got the whole Pacheco family in the studio, even their Frenchie Norm! We had so much fun photographing their family. The photos now live in their home, they have a statement piece that Sara says is “definitely the topic of conversation when our guests arrive!” Each of their children get a beautiful piece to celebrate them.

Sacramento Family Portrait Session | Todd Family
We had the pleasure to photograph Christina and Doug’s beautiful family in February and we just love how they turned out! In the past their family has tried other photographers and the “everyone look at the camera and smile” photoshoots. Anyone with three kids knows that’s not what daily life looks like so for their session we let the kids be who they are and captured exactly what they see in their life everyday.
